Somerville Cocktail Supply Shop Has Closed After 15 Years

SOMERVILLE, MA — A popular Somerville business that provided cocktail-making supplies and lessons has closed its doors after 15 years.

The Boston Shaker, which was located at 69 Holland St. in Davis Square, announced on its website Tuesday that it has closed because of "unfortunate circumstances beyond our control."

"We want to thank each and every member of our loyal community of savvy sippers for 15 great years in Somerville," The Boston Shaker's statement read. "Our journey as a small business serving our local neighborhood and cocktail lovers across the nation has been an incredible one."

The statement continued: "We are thankful for all the opportunities we have had to share our knowledge, passion and cocktails with all of you!"

Among the products The Boston Shaker sold at its shop and online were: tools like shakers and mixing glasses, ingredients like bitters and syrups, drinkware like cups and mugs, and the spirits themselves. The business also sold books about cocktail-making and featured in-store and online drink-mixing classes.
