Somerville Crime Numbers in 2012
Figures from the Somerville Police Department show little change in the number of crimes committed in 2012.

Crime levels remained steady in Somerville during 2012.
According to figures provided by the Somerville Police Department, the number of Part 1 crimes—serious crimes that are reported to the FBI—were about the same in 2012 and 2011. There was a 10 percent decrease in Part 1 crimes in 2012 when compared to 2010.
Both violent crime and property crime levels remained about the same in 2012 and 2011, the figures show. When compared to 2010, there was a slight increase in violent crime and a slight decrease in property crime.

There were no homicides in 2012, the figures show.
