Somerville Dental Program Gets $95K Grant
The grant was part of $1.1 million handed out to vocational schools in Massachusetts.

Somerville High School's new dental assisting program received a $95,745 grant from the state, according to an announcement issued May 28 by Lt. Gov. Timothy Murray, whose last day in office is Sunday.
The state's Vocational School Grant Program awarded over $1.1 million to vocational programs around Massachusetts, the announcement days.
Somerville High School's Center for Career and Technical Education offers programs in a number of professional fields, and the dental assisting program is new, slated to open in September.

The Center for Career and Technical Education also offers programs in automotive technology, culinary arts, various health careers, construction technology, drafting, machine technology, child development, electrical careers, metal fabrication, computer principles and repair, design and visual graphic, communications, painting and design, and cosmetology.
