Somerville Man Arrested in Stabbing Outside Boston Bar

Police say a fight over a woman led to the stabbing early Thursday morning.

A Somerville man was arrested and charged in connection to an early-morning stabbing in Boston near Faneuil Hall Thursday.

Around 1:15 a.m., Evan Cobb, 22, stabbed a 32-year-old man in the neck with a knife on Hanover Street, police said. The incident unfolded just outside The Point at 147.

The two men were “fighting over a woman,” according to police.

Cobb was taken into custody. The victim was transported to Mass. General hospital after suffering non-life threatening injuries.

According to police, Cobb was charged with assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon and was also cited for illegal possession of a knife over 2 1/2 inches.
