Boston Police responded to the Point Bar on Hanover Street at approximately 1:13 a.m. for a report of a stabbing. Upon their arrival, officers located Cobb, who was bleeding from a laceration over his right eye. While speaking with Cobb outside, officers were informed of a stabbing victim inside the establishment. Police followed a blood trail inside the bar and located a 32-year-old man lying on the floor with a stab wound to his neck.

Witnesses identified Cobb as the assailant, indicating that he and the victim had been involved in a verbal argument outside that led to a physical altercation, investigators said. One witness observed Cobb holding a knife behind his back during the fight, prosecutors said.

Officers then searched Cobb and found a folding knife clipped to his back pocket, investigators said. He allegedly made post-Miranda statements indicating that he became involved in a physical altercation with the victim and pulled out a knife when the victim overpowered him in the fight.

The victim was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital with a stab wound to the throat and has since been released. Cobb was transported to Tufts Medical Center for the treatment of minor injuries, police said.
