The man was convicted of defrauding the IRS for his clients.
SOMERVILLE, MA — A resident was sentenced in federal court in Boston this week for tax fraud charges, according to a report from News Link Live.
Yves Isidor, 68, will now serve 18 months in prison followed by one year of supervised release for being convicted of five counts of filing false tax returns.
The prosecution presented evidence that Isidor used his tax preparation business to file more than 1,500 tax returns in the names of his clients between $100 to $500 per person. The returns included false information resulting in his clients receiving tax refunds they should not have. Overall, Isidor’s actions reportedly stole between $250,000 and $500,000 to the Internal Revenue Service.
