The rally will take place at Seven Hills Park starting at 10 a.m.

SOMERVILLE, MA — Community members in Somerville will hold a Safe Streets Rally on Saturday, Sept. 17 to call on the city to pass a Safe Streets Ordinance immediately.
The rally will take place at Seven Hills Park starting at 10 a.m. Speakers will include Rep. Mike Connolly, Somerville CIty COUncilor Willie Burnley Jr., Cambridge City Councilor Burhan Azeem, and former Cambridge Vice Mayor Jan Devereux.
“On August 12th, Somerville lost another community member to traffic violence,” a flier for the event reads. "While the City has promised to take action, they have put forth no clear or immediate timeline to improve our streetscape and make it safe for people walking, rolling, and riding bikes. City leadership must do more, and quickly. We will not accept one more death on our streets.”
