Somerville’s Memorial Day Parade Returns In May For First Time Since 2016
This year's Memorial Day Parade will be the first time Somerville has hosted a parade on Memorial Day weekend since 2016.
SOMERVILLE, MA – Somerville’s Memorial Day Parade is set to return this year on Sunday, May 28.
This year’s event will be the first time the city has hosted a parade on Memorial Day weekend since 2016. The city’s annual remembrance ceremony will take place after the parade at Veterans Cemetery.
The parade will begin at 12 p.m. from David Square and proceed west on Holland Street through Teele Square and onto Broadway, before ending at the Veterans Cemetery between Alewife Brook Parkway and North Street.

Somerville community members can expect a wreath laying and remarks by mayor Katjana Ballantyne, City Council President Ben Ewen-Campen, Director of Veterans’ Services Ted Louis-Jacques, and several members of the local veterans community.
Somerville community groups and organizations are encouraged to participate and march along with local veterans and first responders. To participate, please complete a brief form at somervillema.gov/veterans or call 617-625-6600 ext. 4700 by Friday, April 28.
