Somerville Salon's Black Lives Matter Mural Vandalized

A video shared on TikTok showed that someone had spray-painted over part of the mural on the store's window.

SOMERVILLE, MA — Police in Somerville are seeking a person of interest in connection with vandalism at a local business.

Police said the vandalism happened in the area of Highland Avenue and Cedar Street.

A video shared on TikTok showed a man appearing to deface a Black Lives Matter mural painted on the window of a salon. The footage was taken from the shop's Nest camera, and video of the aftermath showed the word "Black" spray-painted over.

The incident happened Nov. 26 at HAIR by Christine and Co., according to the video.

Anyone with information about the person of interest is asked to contact the Somerville Police Department at 617-625-1600 ext. 7232.
