Somerville Schools Delayed 2 Hours Monday

SPS delayed opening to ensure staff is able to rapid test, schools could adjust to staffing shortages and KN95 masks could be given out.

SOMERVILLE, MA — The Somerville Public Schools delayed the start of all schools and programs on Monday.

In a message to families, the district said it was implementing a two-hour delay to ensure that staff has access to rapid testing before students arrive, administrators could account for staffing shortages and KN95 masks could be given out to educators.

Bus pickup is delayed two hours as well. A cold breakfast will be available at every school from 9:30-10 a.m.
