Somerville Set To Unveil New Structure At Park
A formal event is scheduled for later this week.
SOMERVILLE, MA — The city is set to cut the ribbon on a new structure at the Capuano Playground this week.
Mayor Katjana Ballantyne and Ward 1 Councilor Matthew McLaughlin will lead the event scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 30 at 3 p.m. at the park on 150 Glen St. in which the shade structure will be unveiled. The structure is described as a “sun-safe” space for residents. It was funded by the City’s Participatory Budgeting program, which empowers community members to propose and vote on projects that directly benefit their community.
