Somerville Taking Next Step On New Public Safety Site

The city plans to redevelop 90 Washington St. into a shared commercial, civic and residential space that includes a Public Safety building.

SOMERVILLE, MA — Officials in Somerville have scheduled a second community meeting to discuss the planned Public Safety site.

The plan calls for redeveloping 90 Washington Street, a 4-acre site near the East Somerville Green Line station, into a shared commercial, civic and residential space that includes a Public Safety building.

At a meeting on Feb. 16, the project team will present several options for future development, based on feedback received at an initial community meeting in December. The meeting will also include updates about the Public Safety Building.
