The new playground is the first phase of a larger schoolyard renovation project at Healey.

SOMERVILLE, MA — Mayor Joseph Curtatone and Ward 4 City Councilor Jesse Clingan will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony at the newly renovated Healey Community Play Area on Tuesday, Sept. 28.
The event, which begins at 2 p.m., will unveil the new playground at the former tot lot. The space features state-of-the-art play structures for children ages 2-5, an expanded natural area with log seating and bright colors and graphics.
The design was developed in partnership with the Healey School community and the Friends of Healey group. Renovations were funded entirely using Community Preservation Act funds.
