Somerville's Thirsty Scholar Ready For Cinco De Mayo, Kentucky Derby
The rustic pub's "Cinco de Drinko" and Derby Day events are set to take place back-to-back in May.
SOMERVILLE, MA – Though May has yet to begin, The Thirsty Scholar Pub in Somerville is reminding folks that it's time to fiesta for Cinco de Mayo and giddy up for the Kentucky Derby with two upcoming events.
The rustic pub, located at 70 Beacon St., has two back-to-back events to start May with a bang.
On Friday, May 5 at 4 p.m. Somerville residents can take part in Cinco de Mayo festivities complete with themed food items such as birria tacos and a stewed chicken plate, and cocktail specials such as a margarita flight, mexican mule, mezcal paloma, and more.

The next day, on Saturday, May 6 at 11 a.m. the pub will host a viewing party for the 149th Kentucky Derby, complete with a bourbon-laced mint julep drink special. Somerville residents with the best derby-themed hat can win a $50 gift card to the pub.
