Sunday: Somerville Firefighters Memorial Ceremony

Ceremonies commemorate firefighters who lost their lives in the line of duty.

Editor's note: The following was provided by Somerville Fire Local 76, the Somerville firefighters union. The Arrow Paper Memorial commemorates a 1974 fire at the Arrow Paper warehouse where two Somerville firefighters lost their lives in the line of duty. Learn more about it at the Local 76 website. The Arrow Paper Memorial is near the intersection of South Street and Willow Street.

On Sunday June 2, 2013 the Somerville Fire Department will be having their annual Memorial Sunday to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice.. There will be a short ceremony at the Arrow Paper Memorial on South St. @ 8:00 a.m. and following that there will be another commemoration at the fire station on the the corner of Somerville Ave. and Lowell St. All citizens are invited to attend, thank you for your support
