Dorchester Teen Slain Wednesday Night Identified By Family

A 16-year-old on his bike was shot multiple times Wednesday.

According to a report from the Boston Herald, relatives have named the 16-year-old victim of a suspected homicide Wednesday evening in Dorchester as Jonathan Dos Santos.

The source reports Dos Santos was a freshman at McKinley Preparatory High School in the South End, and an avid fan of basketball, football and video games.

The victim’s family’s shock, sadness, and devastation, as conveyed in the original article, can not be understated.

WBZ CBS Boston reports that Dos Santos was not known by friends or family in the community to be involved with street violence, although Boston Police do not believe the attack was random.

The shooting on Fuller Street - where Dos Santos resided - occurred shortly before 8 p.m., and the victim was pronounced dead at the hospital before 10 p.m., according to police.

Boston Police say two males thought to be in their late teens wearing green sweatshirts were seen feeling the scene. Those with information about the incident that they’d care to share with authorities can contact the BPD at (617) 343-4470, or send an anonymous tip via 1-(800) 494-TIPS.
