The Thirsty Scholar Bar In Somerville Releases Weekly Event Lineup

SOMERVILLE, MA — The Thirsty Scholar, Somerville’s neighborhood bar famous for making a special guest appearance in the 2011 blockbuster hit, “The Social Network,” is debuting new entertainment, specials, and programming throughout the week.

The following events will now be held on a weekly basis:

Mondays from 8 to 9:30 p.m.

• Beginning on May 30, Thy Thirsty Scholar will host a comedy show each week featuring local talents. Complimentary to attend, the bar will showcase a rotating mix of comics to get your week started on a positive note.

Tuesdays beginning at 4 p.m.

• Led by chef Jaime Suare, The Thirsty Scholar now features $1 oysters each Tuesday from 4pm until they’re officially shucked out. This buck-a-shuck deal is one of summer’s best Happy Hour steals.

Wednesdays at 7 p.m.

• On Wednesdays, brainiacs are put to the test with a weekly session of pub trivia. Assemble your team of trivia-masters who have an uncanny amount of knowledge to take home the prize of Thirsty Scholar gift cards and bragging rights.

Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

On Saturdays, put on your brunch best and take in the sounds of live blues music until 2pm. The weekly “Blues Brunch” features a rotating mix of local artists complemented by The Thirsty Scholar’s signature “Build Your Own Bloody Mary” bar.

Sundays

As your weekend winds down, Thirsty Scholar hosts brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and then closes out their programming with “Pub Family Feud” at 6 p.m. each Sunday. A quick and easy take on the gameshow favorite, one Feud question is displayed and it’s up to your team to come up with the most popular answers. The winning team will take home a gift card to Thirsty Scholar.
