This Weekend in Somerville: Seize the Summer

Also, blues music and a midnight movie are happening in Somerville this weekend.

Seize the Summer
Highland Avenue, from Walnut Street to Cedar Street, will be closed down Sunday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. for "Seize the Summer," a street fair that's part of the SomerStreets program. The fair will include a family bike ride, live music, a cornhole tournament, mini-golf, craft vendors, food and more.

Sweet Molasses Blues
Blues music and dancing. It's at 8 p.m. Saturday at The Center for Arts at the Armory.

Midnight Movie Screening: "Resolution" (2012)

The listing describes the movie in this way: "In an abandoned cabin on the edge of an Indian reservation, Mike (Peter Cilella) stages a risky intervention to force his friend Chris (Vinny Curran) off meth and into rehab. But what begins as an attempt to save his friend’s life takes an unexpected turn when ominous threats start appearing around the house." It screens at midnight on Saturday night at Somerville Theatre.

MIRA Citizenship Workshop
The Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition and the city of Somerville are offering this citizen workshop Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The listing says the workshop "will provide legal services and multilingual support to help immigrants apply for citizenship. The application assistance is free, and low-income applicants may be eligible to apply for citizenship fee waivers." There will also be food, face painting and live Brazilian jazz.

Bethel Steele Returns to The Burren
The listing says: "Boston's Bethel Steele, Americana singer-songwriter and Passim's Iguana Music Fund winnerwill be returning for a show at the Burren back room in Somerville on Sunday." The show is at 8 p.m. with Mark Lipman opening.

It's Saturday in Union Square from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
