Traffic Changes Coming To Somerville City Hall, High School Area

The Traffic Board will hold a public hearing Thursday on the designation of dozens of spots as City Hall or school parking for one year.

SOMERVILLE, MA — The Somerville Traffic Board will hold a public hearing Thursday regarding the one-year parking changes for city and school staff on Central Hill, near City Hall, Somerville High School and the Central Library.

The Traffic Commission approved changes at its Nov. 18 meeting. This included designating dozens of two-hour or unregulated parking spots as City Hall or school permit parking during the morning, and examining the results after one year.

The public hearing will begin at 6 p.m., opening with a brief presentation on the project history and objectives. Following the presentation, members of the public will be invited to speak. The typical two-minute time limit will be enforced.

It will be recorded and rebroadcast on GovTV (channel 13 on RCN, channel 22 on Comcast) and on the city's YouTube channel, youtube.com/SomervilleCityTV.
