Travel Advisory: Lane Closure On Route 28 Off-Ramp In Somerville
Road work will take place along the Route 28 southbound off-ramp to Washington Street from Sept. 22 through Dec. 15
SOMERVILLE, MA — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) announced Tuesday that road work will take place along the Route 28 southbound off-ramp to Washington Street from Thursday, Sept. 22, through Thursday, Dec. 15.
On Sept. 22 at 9 a.m. crews will close the left lane along the off-ramp and enforce a no parking restriction from Prospect Hill Avenue to Medford Street. These closures are required to reconstruct the barrier wall along Route 28 southbound.
The work is being conducted as part of a $15.6 million project to perform bridge repairs, paving and other related work on 1.5 miles of Monsignor O’Brien/McGrath Highway Route 28 between Cambridge and Somerville.
