First Phase of Assembly Row Hits Home Stretch
Developers Thursday broke ground on the final building in phase I of Assembly Row. When it opens in spring of 2014, phase I will include 450 residential units, more than 200,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space, an AMC movie theater, 100,000 square feet of office space and a redesigned waterfront park along the Mystic River.

According to Boston EaterBronwyn, a highly anticipated new restaurant in Union Square from the owners of Cambridge's T.W. Food, could open as early as May 13. May 12 will be the last day Davis Square's Rosebud will be open, Boston Eater says.

Somerville Votes for Markey and Gomez as Both Candidates Win Primaries
Somerville voters chose Rep. Ed Markey, a Democrat, and former Navy SEAL Gabriel Gomez, a Republican, in Tuesday's special primary for U.S. Senate. Voters in the rest of the state concurred, as both candidates will face off against each other in a special election on June 25.

What Developers Want to Build at the Powder House School
The city of Somerville received six proposals from development groups for the Powder House School site, which is near Teele Square at 1060 Broadway. Proposals include artist live-work space, townhouses and university office space and other things.

Somerville Open Studios Turns 15 this Weekend
Now in its 15th year, Somerville Open Studios has become one of largest open studio events in the country, said Rachel Mello, coordinator of the event. This year, almost 425 artists and 110 studio sites will be participating.
