Arson Caused At Least Three Somerville Fires
It's been a summer of fires in Somerville, and at least three were caused by arson, city and state officials announced Monday. The state and city are offering up to $15,000, combined, for information that leads to arrests and prosecutions.
Sean Collier Posthumously Appointed to Somerville Police Department
Sean Collier, the MIT police officer and Somerville resident whom police say was killed by the Boston Marathon bombers, was posthumously appointed to the Somerville Police Department on Thursday.
Tufts Recommended as Developer for Powder House School
Tufts University was recommended by an advisory committee to redevelop the Powder House School site near Teele Square. Tufts plans to build an administration building, "unaffiliated" apartments and open space at the site of the former school.
East Somerville Community School to Celebrate Reopening
We learned this week that the new East Somerville Community School, rebuilt after a 2007 fire, will reopen on Sept. 4.
