Tony Maws' new Somerville restaurant, The Kirkland Tap & Trotter, will open in August. Maws is chef and owner of the popular Craigie on Main in Cambridge, though The Kirkland Tap & Trotter will be a more casual eatery.

Dramatic Drop in Somerville Foreclosures in First Half of 2013
Somerville saw four completed foreclosures in the first six months of 2013. That compares to 15 completed foreclosures in the first half of 2012, 17 in the first half of 2011 and 29 in the first six months of 2010.

Bertram Gay, Husband to Former Somerville Mayor, Dies
We learned this week that Somerville resident Bertram A. Gay, a machinist, political activist and husband to former Somerville Mayor Dorothy Kelly Gay, passed away on July 24 after struggling with cancer. He was 72.

Brooklyn Boulders Somerville Grand Opening
