Your Guide: 'Seize the Summer' Street Festival

The Seize the Summer street festival takes place Sunday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine.

Much of Highland Avenue will be closed to traffic Sunday for a street festival called "Seize the Summer," one of five street festivals taking place over the summer as part of SomerStreets.

The highlight of "Seize the Summer" is a family bike ride. It takes off from City Hall at 1 p.m.

Beforehand, families will have the opportunity to decorate their bikes.

Other fun things at Seize the Summer include live music, food, craft vendors, a health and fitness fair and—brace yourselves—a cornhole tournament.

Cornhole is kind of like horseshoes, where players toss beanbags into platforms with holes cut into them.

Highland Avenue will be closed to traffic from Walnut Street to Cedar Street from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. There will be no parking along the street from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. MBTA buses will be re-routed away from Highland Avenue from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
