Your Guide: Somerville Dog Fest
The festival includes a play with doggie actors, urban mushing, doggie skateboarding, demonstrations and vendors.

Somerville dog lovers shouldn't miss out on the Somerville Dog Fest, which takes place Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Trum Field.
The festival will include try-it activities for dogs and their owners, training clinics, a police-dog demonstration and a silent auction.
Because this is Somerville, there are some creative events, too.
Notably, four dog actors (and one human) will perform a play about Little Red Riding Hood.
There will also be lessons in free-style doggie dance along with a dog-owner look-a-like contest, skateboarding classes for dogs and, for you armchair Iditarod fans, urban mushing.
Other activities for dogs include agility, a best trick contest, obedience, disc, flyball, nosework, rally, and search and rescue.
There will be a silent auction to benefit the Somerville Foundation for Animals, which runs Dog Fest. The foundation was started by Dr. Adam Parker, co-owner of Porter Square Veterinarian, which is actually in Davis Square, and Marjie Alonso, a Somerville-based dog trainer.
