Colonial Faire, Twillingate Open House and More This Weekend
A smattering of events going on this weekend in Sudbury.

1. A fun event for the whole family, the Sudbury Colonial Faire/Fyfe & Drum Muster has delighted 2 generations of Sudbury residents and their friends from all over New England. See the Sudbury Militia on Sept. 28 at 10 a.m. at The Wayside Inn during a change of command ceremony with musket drill which is annually declared an illegal assembly by His Majesty's regulars and leads to a pitched battle. More than 40 vendors of colonial reproductions and some more modern wares, as well as food, living history demonstrations including 18th century dance, games & activities for children and three hours of fyfe and drum music hosted by the Sudbury Ancient Fyfe & Drum Corps, will be on hand. This is the biggest fundraising event of the year for the Sudbury Companies of Militia & Minute - come help us keep history alive as we celebrate a half century of service. Admission is $2 and children younger than 12 are free. The Faire goes on rain or shine.
2. Twillingate Farm Alpacas will be hosting its annual Open House Sept. 28-29 at 10 a.m. The Farm will be open to the public for tours and educational discussions about alpacas. It's a great opportunity to meet & interact with the alpacas and maybe even see a birth. There are five cria due over the next two months. The alpacas are growing their fleece for the winter. Come and learn about fiber arts including spinning, felting, & knitting with their luxurious fleece.
3. Noyes Elementary School is partnering with Cradles to Crayons to collect new and like-new essential children's items that will help children living in homeless or low-income situations have the essentials they need to feel safe, warm, ready to learn, and valued. Cradles to Crayons supplies these items free of charge by engaging and connecting communities that have with communities that need.
