Lightning Strike May Have Sparked Sudbury Started 2-Alarm Fire
A round of thunderstorms swept through the Sudbury area Thursday afternoon with frequent lighting.

SUDBURY, MA — Sudbury firefighters battled a two-alarm fire Thursday afternoon in the midst of thunderstorms that may have started the fire.
Firefighters were called to a home at 120 Longfellow Road just before 4:30 p.m. for a reported fire, possibly caused by a lightning strike. Firefighters arrived to find smoke and flames coming from the home's roof.
"Companies attacked the fire from inside the home, stretching hose lines up into the attic. The fire in the attic area and second floor was knocked down and brought under control in about 35 minutes. There were no reported injuries," Sudbury Fire Chief John Whalen said in a news release.
