Multiple Reports Of Car Break-Ins In Sudbury: Police

Police are investigating reports of car break-ins that occurred overnight.

SUDBURY, MA — Multiple reports of car break-ins were made in Sudbury overnight Monday into Tuesday, according to police.

"Sudbury is great community which often lulls residents into a false sense of security," police wrote on Facebook. "This can sometimes lead to complacency in our security routines, specifically leaving our vehicles and houses unsecured."

Police advised residents to always secure their vehicles and to add this to their nightly routine.

"Although perpetrators are typically looking for unlocked vehicles, if high value items are left in plain sight this may entice one to forcibly gain entry," police wrote. "Please do not leave valuables in your vehicles, particularly in plain sight!"

The incidents are under investigation.

The news comes as several other Massachusetts communities are dealing with similar issues. Police in Andover, Milford, Marlborough, and Tewksbury have reported a recent increase in this type of crime.
