Sudbury To Address Housing Crisis At Expert Panel

State Rep. Carmine Gentile will speak along with other local experts.

SUDBURY, MA — The Sudbury Housing Trust and the Sudbury Housing Authority are inviting residents to learn more about the housing crisis.

A forum, named "Creating Livable Communities: The Status of Housing in Sudbury," will be held at the Goodnow Library on Thursday. A panel of experts will speak, including State Rep. Carmine Gentile (D-13th Middlesex), Monica Keel of the Citizens Housing and Planning Association, Jason Palitsch of 495/MetroWest Partnership, and Liz Rust of the Regional Housing Services Office.

The event will provide residents with the opportunity to learn from experts about the nature of the housing crisis and its potential impact on Sudbury.

The town said housing is a problem across the region and in Sudbury, citing a comprehensive housing plan from the Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities, which found that Massachusetts needs to add 222,000 homes to its housing stock over the next four years.

To address some housing issues, Sudbury adopted a Housing Production Plan this year to create and preserve affordable and mixed-income housing.

The event will take place at the library, which is located at 21 Concord Rd., on Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m.
