Sudbury Foundation Award First Round Of Grants In 2024

SUDBURY, MA — The Sudbury Foundation has revealed its first round of grants in 2024 for programs in Concord, Framingham, Lincoln, Maynard, Sudbury and Wayland.

The foundation gave out a total of $320,000 in this year's first round for programs ranging from a camp for childhood cancer survivors to youth soccer and local police.

“This first round of grants in 2024 provides broad support for nonprofits based in Sudbury, targeted support for local hunger relief organizations, and multi-year Children, Youth and Family grants.” Sudbury Foundation Executive Director Sonia Shah said in a news release.

  • St. Vincent de Paul / Our Lady of Fatima: $10,000 for the Sudbury Housing Assistance Project
  • Sudbury Youth Soccer Association: $5,000 for Portable AED for use at Sudbury Soccer Programs
  • Town of Sudbury Sustainability Coordinator: $15,000 for Locally Grown Sudbury
  • Sudbury Police Department: $10,446 for E-Patrol Bikes

Hunger Relief Grants

  • Gaining Ground, Concord: $15,000
  • Aurelia's Garden, Wayland: $2,500
  • Mass Audubon Drumlin Farm, Lincoln: $2,500

Children, Youth, and Families Invitation Grants Multi-Year General Operating Support

  • Boys & Girls' Club of Assabet Valley: $100,000 over 3 years
  • Literations, Framingham): $100,000 over 3 years
  • Camp Casco, Sudbury: $60,000 over 2 years

Local entrepreneurs Herbert Atkinson and Esther Peterson started the Sudbury Foundation in the 1950s to help local students pursue higher education. The foundation has grown over the years to help a variety of causes, from local food programs to events and activities in Sudbury.
