These young musicians auditioned for BYSO in May of 2013. Of the 830 applicants, nearly 496 were chosen to become members of BYSO.

2. The Sudbury Cultural Council invites nonprofit organizations and agencies, schools, and individuals to apply for grants that support cultural activities in the community for the 2013-2014 granting cycle. Applications must be postmarked by October 15, and applicants may apply for grants for programs that take place during an 18 month window of eligibility between July 1, preceding the application October deadline, and December 31, of the following year. That is, applicants may apply for projects that have already happened, with the knowledge that funding is not guaranteed.

3. The Sudbury Celebrates 375 Committee, established by the Town of Sudbury to spearhead its 375th anniversary in 2014, invites community groups and individuals, such as schools and religious institutions, arts and cultural groups, artists, historians, and businesses, to become a part of the historic occasion by initiating and creating events, programs, and exhibits connected to the 375th anniversary of the town’s incorporation.

All event and project ideas should be cleared in advance through the committee to avoid duplication of efforts. The purpose of this networking event is to bring together business people, marketers and professionals who live or work in Sudbury and the surrounding communities who want to meet others from the area and learn more about social media such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube and blogs.

Bob and Phil host the Sudbury Social Tweetup on the last Thursday of each month. At each Tweetup, an informal discussion is held about different social media-related topics and issues.
