Sudbury Raises Awareness For Opioid Overdoses With Fall Event

The event will offer free NARCAN training.

SUDBURY, MA — Sudbury is looking to help raise awareness of opioid overdoses this year.

This year's Big Family: Opioid Awareness Event is on Sept. 4 at Grange Hall, at 326 Concord Rd. The event will run from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

There will have featured speakers, resource tables and free NARCAN training, as well as light refreshments.

The organization is also collecting donations for RISE, Framingham's Harm Reduction program.

They are looking for new socks and underwear, lightly used shoes and winter boots and non-perishable snack foods, like protein bars, pretzels and trail mix.

It follows International Opioid Awareness Day on Aug. 31., which is a global campaign to put an end to overdose.
