SUDBURY, MA — The town is preparing to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution over the next few years, but the effort needs a logo first.

The Sudbury 250 Committee is looking for design submissions from town employees and residents (past and present) of any age. The logo will be used widely on banners, bumper stickers, T-shirts, sweatshirts, programs and 250th anniversary memorabilia.

The logo design contest formally kicks off the town's 250th celebration, which will also include events like the Sudbury militia marching to Concord in April 2025, and the culminating celebration on July 4, 2026.

Although 1776 is the most prominent year of the revolution, the colonial separation from the United Kingdom began brewing years before. The Boston Tea Party took place in 1773, and Paul Revere's famous ride in 1774. Sudbury's participation in the battles of Lexington and Concord and the siege of Boston took place in April 1775.

To submit a logo idea, send your work as a PNG or JPG file via email to sudbury250@sudbury.ma.us by June 1. Make sure to include your name, phone number and email address.
