Sudbury Selectmen Decline Purchase of Concord Road Lot

With a day to go before the deadline, Sudbury's Board of Selectmen voted not to purchase a 2.2-acre parcel of land on Concord Road by a 4-1 vote.

Instead, 233 Concord Road will be sold to a private party who has plans to build a house on the lot.

The lone voice of opposition was Selectman Bob Haarde, who said based on what it costs to educate a child in Sudbury, the town would lose $15,000 per year for every child who moves into a house on that property.

"If this is not a high priority for the people in this room, then I’m ashamed to be a part of this town," Concord Road resident Suzanne Kellogg said at the Nov. 5 meeting.
