Big Blue Bargains Donates $5K To Anchor Food Pantry Amid SNAP-Benefit Turmoil
Board members presented the check as federal and state officials wrangled over funding benefits during the government shutdown.

SWAMPSCOTT, MA — Big Blue Bargains donated $5,000 from recent sales to the Anchor Food Pantry of Swampscott amid the ongoing uncertainty surrounding SNAP benefits.
Big Blue Bargains VP Laura Lynn told Patch that the donation was made because the benefit cut was "felt acutely by many members of our community who are facing food insecurity."
"The donation was possible thanks to the many donors and volunteers who help support Big Blue Bargains' mission to improve our community of Swampscott," Lynn said.
