Lynn police said the State Police Airwing, along with drones, ATVs, K-9s and bicycles, were used to search for Lopez starting Sunday morning and into Monday, especially in Lynn Woods — where Walden Pond is included — where he was known to have an interest.

Lopez worked for a Food Project in Lynn and Wenham.

Lynn Police Chief Chris Reddy said the body was found by several young men who were planning to go fishing in the area.

"The main purpose of today is to just to let the folks that the search is over and we have tentatively identified Brian and that his remains have been located," Tucker said. "In terms of the forensic investigation, that will be up to the medical examiner's office."
