Cahill 5K Set for Sunday, May 4th

5K Race and 1 Mile Walk To Benefit Anchor Food Pantry and Rotary Club Cahill Scholarship

The annual Cahill 5K will take place on Sunday, May 4th at Linscott Park, bringing the community together to honor a beloved local figure and support two important causes: the Anchor Food Pantry and the Rotary Club Cahill Scholarship.

Held in memory of Danny Cahill, a lifelong Swampscott resident and devoted walker, the Cahill 5K celebrates his spirit of perseverance, generosity, and community pride.

All student athletes are invited to register for free, and a $100 cash prize will be awarded to the top male and female student athlete finishers.

“This race is a tribute to Danny Cahill’s legacy and a way for us to give back to the community he loved so much,” said organizer Diane O’Brien. “Whether you’re running, walking, or cheering from the sidelines, we hope everyone comes out to be part of this special event.”

The race is open to all ages and experience levels, with proceeds benefiting two vital community programs: The Anchor Food Pantry, providing essential support to local families in need and The Rotary Club Cahill Scholarship, awarded annually to a Swampscott student in honor of Danny’s dedication to education and youth development.

See you on Sunday, May 4, 2025 at 9am at Linscott Park, Swampscott, MA. Registration opens at 7:30am.
