Elderly Man Reported Pushing Empty Swings on School Playground
Plus, men walking on the train tracks and a dog makes a late-night escape.

Wednesday, Aug. 12
At 2:37 a.m., a caller reported a dog had gotten out of its home. The dog was returned to the owner.
At 11:35 a.m., a caller reported that an elderly man was “hanging around” the swing set at Hadley School and began pushing empty swings. A concerned woman approached him, but found the man didn’t speak English. Police spoke with the man who was visiting from China; his family was nearby.

At 6:13 p.m., two men were reported to be walking on the train tracks from the direction of Salem. The subjects jumped a fence and headed off into a wooded area. Police located the individuals who had valid IDs and were from California. Police gave them a ride into Lynn.

At 7:22 p.m., a woman reported that she was sworn at and yelled at by a neighbor and a group of kids.
