Items from this iconic seashore restaurant are being auctioned.

SWAMPSCOTT, MA — Those looking to own a piece of culinary history on the North Shore have a chance to do so as part of a public auction for items from the Anthony's Hawthorne By The Sea restaurant in Swampscott, starting this week.
The auction of items at the Humphrey Street seaside location runs through Nov. 18 and will be held online only.
Auction items include wooden model ships, antiques, collectibles, oriental carpets, and other parts of the bar, restaurant, kitchen and dining area, including fixtures and equipment.

Everything must be off premises by Nov. 19 at 4 p.m.
Water, gas and hard-wired electricity to the location will be shut off following the auction preview.
Buyers are responsible for the removal of all items and the means to do so via transportation and tools.
There will be no live auction with the online auction, including an "auto extend feature." If a bid is placed in the last minute of the auction, the item will auto-extend for one minute until there are no bids in the final minute.
There is an 18 percent buyer's premium for all items with a 3 percent discount for cash or certified check. All credit card purchases include the 18 percent premium.
The full catalog of items can be found here.
The town purchased the 1.47-acre Hawthorne property for $7 million in 2022 and recently formed the Hawthorne Reuse Committee to determine what mix of open space, as well as potential mixed retail and community space, will be the best use for the future of the property.
