Lynn Man Charged with Stealing Motor Bike, Carrying a Knife

At 9:21 a.m., threats were reportedly made over a parking space at Stop & Shop.

At 9:22 a.m., a man reported that he is having work done on his home and he found what he believed to be narcotics that one of the workers dropped.

At 10:45 a.m., a passing jogger stopped to talk with a detail officer and reported that a suspicious man was sitting in a vehicle in the Fish House parking log with a towel over his lap. The man was gone upon an officer’s arrival.

At 12:42 p.m., a man reported that he locked his keys in his car with his 18-month-old son inside. Firefighters were able to access the vehicle.

At 8 p.m., a caller reported that a man rode a 10-speed bike down Pine Street, turned on Lombard Terrace and came back out with a motor scooter that he was pushing. The caller reported the man was holding a closed folding knife. Police located the party and arrested John Sims Jr, 41, of Lynn. Sims was charged with larceny over $250, possession of a Class E drug and possession of a knife over 2.5 inches long.
