Packages Stolen 'Within Minutes' After Delivery: Swampscott Police

Police are warning residents to take precautions when expecting electronics being shipped from FedEx and other delivery services.

SWAMPSCOTT, MA — North Shore residents are being warned of packages being stolen "within minutes" of being delivered to front porches and urged to take precautions to protect their purchases.

Swampscott police issued a community alert on Thursday telling residents that packages including electronics were being swiped off porches and entryways soon after being dropped off.

Residents are advised to have packages delivered to a local store for pickup if being sent from a network provider or manufacturer, ask for a signature upon delivery and make sure someone is home when packages are expected.
