'Reprehensible': Swampscott Chiropractor Sentenced For Sexually Assaulting Patients

The Marblehead man pled guilty to indecently assaulting patients at his A Touch of Health Chiropractic practice on Humphrey Street.

SWAMPSCOTT, MA — A Marblehead man who pled guilty to sexually assaulting patients at his Swampscott chiropractor office was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison in Salem Superior Court.

Ilan Amar, 50, owned A Touch of Health Chiropractic at 444 Humphrey Street, where he was accused of accosting three patients. He pled guilty to two charges of indecent assault and battery and three counts of open and gross lewdness on Sept. 20, according to the Essex County District Attorney's Office.

"The actions that led to these charges are reprehensible," said Essex County DA Paul Tucker. "Those seeking treatment in a healthcare setting are often at their most vulnerable, placing the
utmost trust in the provider. The defendant chose to take advantage of and violate that trust.

"The victims in this case showed tremendous courage in coming forward to ensure the defendant would be unable to do this to anyone else."
