Shuttle Buses To Replace North Shore Commuter Rail Service Next Month
The MBTA said the Rockport/Newburyport line will use shuttles to replace the trains from Swampscott and North Station on Sept. 9 and 10.

SWAMPSCOTT, MA — Shuttle buses will replace train service from Swampscott to North Station during the weekend of Sept. 9-10 as crews work to install a temporary platform at Lynn Station.
The MBTA said there will be no service at Chelsea Station with passengers encouraged to use Silver Line 3 services.
Passengers are reminded that bicycles are not allowed on shuttle buses.

Regular service will operate between Newburyport/Rockport and Swampscott.
As of Friday, when the Sumner Tunnel is scheduled to reopen, the summer fare discount of $2.40 will be coming to an end and regular fares will be collected. The commuter rail does feature $10 weekend fares for unlimited travel on all commuter rail lines.
