Student Accused Of Stabbing KIPP Academy Staff Member In Lynn

LYNN, MA — A student is in custody after being accused of stabbing a KIPP Academy Lynn Collegiate High School staff member Monday morning, the school said in a news release.
The stabbing occurred around 10 a.m., after which the staff member was taken to the hospital and the student was taken into police custody.
After the stabbing was reported, KIPP Academy immediately contacted police, placed the campus in a "Secure and Hold campus movement restriction," and notified families of the incident before dismissing students from school.

"There is no additional threat or concern of harm to our campus at this time," according to the school.
KIPP Academy continued: "The safety of our students and staff is our number one priority. We will continue to partner with the Lynn Police Department and follow their recommendations. Our focus at this time is on supporting our community; we are mobilizing counseling and additional support services for students, faculty, and staff today and will continue to provide information on accessing these supports and ensuring access remains available in the days ahead."
