Swampscott Adds Clothes, Textiles To Recycling Program

Swampscott residents can now leave clothing, shoes, socks, blankets, and small household items like jewelry or silverware at the curb.

SWAMPSCOTT, MA — Swampscott will now accept clothing, shoes, socks, blankets, and small household items like jewelry or silverware as part of its curbside recycling pickup service. The town partnered Simple Recycling to begin accepting textiles for recycling. The town mailed pink plastic bags to residents last month which can be filled with textiles for pickup on recycling days.

Pink bags should be placed at the curb with other refuse but separated from other recyclables. Residents will receive a new pink bag when their first pink bag is collected.
