Swampscott Big Blue Bargains To Donate $4K To Middle School PTO

The donation will help offset costs for the 8th grade trip and to buy tools and supplies for the engineering department.

Big Blue Bargains was launched in 2012 at the SMS. Having the first donation go back to the SMS PTO is a fantastic way to honor our beginnings while launching an exciting new chapter in the life of the thrift store, organizers said.

SWAMPSCOTT, MA — Swampscott's Big Blue Bargains thrift store is making its first major donation to Swampscott Public Schools since its reopening at the former Clarke Elementary School extension.

The donation of $4,000 to the Swampscott Middle School PTO is being used to help fund alternative options for the 8th grade DC trip and mostly to help fulfill a request from the Engineering Program to fund a large list of tools and supplies.

"They provided us a list totaling approximately $10,000 that we intend to fully fund between this year and next," Joseph D. Ford of the Swampscott Middle School PTO said. "BBB's generous donation gives us a big push forward in that endeavor."
