Swampscott To Close Roads Sunday For July 4 Weekend Fireworks 2022
Police released the planned road closures and no-parking alerts for the return of the Independence Day show for Lynn and Swampscott.
SWAMPSCOTT, MA — With the fireworks festival returning to Swampscott and Lynn this year the Swampscott Police Department will be closing several roads in the area on Sunday so residents can safely watch the show of lights in the sky.
Starting at 3 p.m. there will be no parking on both sides of Humphrey Street from Redington Street to the Lynn line, all of Monument Avenue, Burrill Street from Paradise Road to Humphrey Street, all of Redington Street, all of Sheridan Road, all of Thomas Road, and Elmwood from Paradise Road to Monument Ave.
Starting at 6 p.m., Humphrey Street will be closed from Redington Street to the Lynn line, Burrill Street will be closed from Paradise Road to Monument Avenue, Monument Avenue, Elmwood Road, Hardy Road, Shaw Road and Andrew Road will all be closed, and Ellis Road will be closed from Paradise Road to Farragut Road.

Cars left in restricted areas, which will be posted, are subject to ticketing and towing at the owner's expense.
Public parking will be allowed at Phillips Park in the football field lot. Handicap parking will be available at the Hadley School lot on Redington Street with limited spaces available.

Festivities begin at 5. Fireworks begin at 9.
"Please remember to report any suspicious activity to any uniformed officer present," Swampscott police said. "Large crowds are expected, so if coming as a family, please take the time to talk to your children about safety and a plan if you become separated."
The Swampscott Fireworks Festival will also include a Night Shift beer garden with a $5 entry fee, music and food trucks.
