SWAMPSCOTT, MA — Swampscott families are invited to take aim at a town DPW truck at the second annual Pumpkin Toss set for Phillips Park.

DPW crews placed the targets on a DPW truck that attendees can try to hit as they toss pumpkins for composting. There will be a platform for children to stand on in order to help them reach.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday.

Since the pumpkins are going to a farm for composting, glitter, paint, decorations, and candles should be removed prior to the toss.

Those residents who miss the pumpkin toss and disposal can dispose of the pumpkins at the public
composting bins around town — including the police station and dog park — or with their
weekly Black Earth pickups.
