Swampscott Man ID'd As $1 Million Powerball Winner

MARBLEHEAD, MA — A Swampscott man was identified as the winner of a $1 million Powerball ticket sold in Marblehead. Rory Richards claimed his prize Friday at the Lottery's Dorchester headquarters, leaving with the winnings (minus taxes.)
Richards bought the ticket as a 7-Eleven on Pleasant Street in Marblehead. The store receives a $10,000 bonus for the sale.
The winning numbers for Jan. 11's drawing were 3 21 23 31 59, and the Powerball was 3. The numbers were a combination of family birthdays and ages, Richards told the Lottery.

The jackpot for Wednesday night's drawing is an estimated $343 million, which is the most since a $344.6 million jackpot was won in North Carolina in June.
