A police escort to the wake and funeral at the Solimine Funeral Home in Lynn will be held on Thursday afternoon.

SWAMPSCOTT, MA — Funeral services and a final police escort have been scheduled for Officer Thomas Lucas, who died last week after a battle with cancer.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, at 7 p.m. in the Solimine Funeral Home, 67 Ocean St. (Rt. 1A), Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be on Thursday
from 4 to 7 p.m., prior to the Funeral Service.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Northeast Animal Shelter at
www.northeastanimalshelter.org.

Swampscott police on Tuesday said an escort to the funeral home will take place at 1:30 p.m. and could impact traffic in the town.

The escort route is as follows:

-Funeral procession with exit left onto Broadway and then proceed to merge onto Chestnut St
-Procession will take a left onto Western Ave and proceed straight until taking a right onto Waitt Ave
-Procession will then merge onto Eastern Ave and proceed until taking a left onto New Ocean St
-Procession will follow New Ocean St. and then on to Paradise Rd following through Vinnin Square
-Procession will then turn right onto Vinnin St, followed by a quick right onto Salem St to the end of the roadway
-Procession will then turn right onto Humphrey St, allowing for a brief pause in front of the Police Department
-Procession with then continue down Humphrey until merging onto Burrill St and past the Fire Department
-Procession will then take a left on New Ocean St, cross over Eastern Ave, and end at Solimine at 67 Ocean St.
